How To Add A Favicon (Browser Icon) On Squarespace
A favicon (browser icon) is the little icon that displays next to the page title in browser tabs. It’s an important part of branding your website because it helps your site look more professional, and helps your site stand out with multiple browser tabs open.
You may have seen the default Squarespace cube on browser tabs from time to time. And while there’s nothing wrong with sticking with the default icon, it affects your site’s credibility and professionalism.
How to add a favicon to your Squarespace site:
In your site’s Home menu, click Design, then click Browser Icon.
Click the uploader to choose a file from your computer, or drag your image into the uploader.
Once your image has uploaded, click Save.
Favicon Best Practices
Image resolution
Favicon images display at 16px × 16px, but for best results, aim to size your favicon image at either 100px × 100px or 300px × 300px. These are the standard dimensions for favicons that will be accepted by all browsers.
File format
For best results, I recommend using a .png file for your favicon image.
File size
100 KB is the maximum file size for favicon images.
